I feel a change in the breeze.

So I'm finally getting around to editing my blog. I'll leave the old China stuff on here but get ready to see some art! Yahoo!

The Silk Road

Diana, Haylee and Jordan in front of the Bell Tower in Xi'an.

Yeah! I have had the funnest mostest bestest last week ever! I went to Xi'an, saw the terracotta warriors, went to church, held some babies at an orphanage and played scum with a local member family to all hours of the night.

In Shanghai, shopping was the order of the day. YES! We also managed to squeeze in a visit to Shangahai's Old Town, the French Concession and even the Shanghai Museum. The best part was Halloween night which we spent dancing in a posh little club on the seventh floor of this old bank building located on the Bund. What a whirl wind of adventure!

Peace in front of Old Town Shanghai

Traditional Female Costume of the Miao Ethnicity. SO COOL!

The worst part was the train. UGH 20 plus hours on a chinese train full of unwashed Chinese smells and sights...blaghk.

Here lies Haylee, who died after being sufficated by noxious chinese train fumes. May she rest in peace.

P.S. Does anyone know how to post more than five pictures at a time? I can't figure out how to do it.

Shopping Trip

One of the things I was most excited about in coming to China was shopping (I'm a girl, what can I say?). While I haven't been nearly as impressed by prices as I thought I was going to be, I've still managed to get some good deals. Here are a few of my purchases:

Darling, Darling Shoes!!!

A shiney new wallet...too bad the zipper is already broken.

I didn't bring any winter clothes (dumb, dumb, dumb!).

MMMM....breakfast.

Ok, so this is where I go almost every morning for breakfast. The little baozi (bow(as in 'take a bow')-dsuh) place is in the middle of this crazy outdoor market with live, unplucked chickens and ducks, fresh fish, eels and even FROGS!!!! Gross and fascinating. I LOVE it! (Also, I had just woken up when I took these videos so I look a little disheveled. Just wanted to point that out. :)
